"Hope is nature's veil for hiding truth's nakedness." Alfrede Nobel
"Mankind has probably done more damage to the earth in the 20th century than in all of previous human history." Jacques-Yves Cousteau

The Black Box
Slide 54.
This slide relates to my design because of its cube like form. I like the repetition of the poles/ beams. There is a focus on structure and form which is interesting. A nice balance is created between positive and negative space which I would like to embody in my space. It is very contemporary and dynamic, creating some intriguing spaces.

Animation of Moffat's Studio
This shows Moffat's space and finishes with a view of the stairs. It is quite a large space- she could even create some sets for her photography here.
Animations
Animation depicting Hall's studio.
This video shows the first studio's exterior, structure and materials. She has a balcony that is the basis for the exhibition space below. The exhibition space is intimate and bright. Glass doors open out onto a patio- providing room for sculpture.

Final Artists Studios
This is Tracy Moffats studio. The word inspiration was "surviving". It is much darker and less natural than Hall's. There is a work bench, computer and lots of wall space for her to test her large artworks. The black sphere could be a dark room or just a space that she goes to be away from reality- and be emersed in her artmaking. Her roof is colourful- mirrorring the vibrancy seen in her works, despite their dark subject matter.
Pictured here is also the stairs, which are particularly spikey and triangular in Moffat's studio. This exemplifies the man-made/ less natural way in which she creates her art. As the stairs ascend to Hall, they become more elegant and natural, reflecting the artists artmaking practises- mainly out of recycled materials.
Final Artists Studios
Fiona Hall's art studio. It is based on the word "Growing". This is enforced by the greenery and projecting poles of wood. The actual studio (sphere) is made out of glass on the top half and wood on the bottom half. This makes for a very light environment- enuring she can work with ease in natural light.
